These children and this place captivated me completely.

Surf Schack Surfschool is a family surf school in Muizenberg, South Africa run by David and Fiona. Besides their commercial business they have decided to help a number of children and young people to get a better start in life. Here they have got free access to all the surf equipment, some food and help with their homework. Surf Shack make sure that the kids get safely to and from school and that they will stay away from crime and drugs.

What Surf Shack are doing with the kids is great and I believe that some of them will go pro one day. I decided to make a series of portraits and therefore spent a lot of time there, both behind the camera an on the surfboard.
